President Art asked for a moment of silence in memory of those who lost their lives at Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill, Pennsylvania.

ANNOUNCEMENTS, Etc.
President Art reported that there had been more activity on our Facebook page as a result of the Street Painting Festival. We had 17 new people who liked us.
 
Paul Segal, chair of the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation, announced that a letter will be sent out to all our members from the foundation asking for donations in the holiday/year-end period. The money collected goes into the fund that supports grants to non-profits that help local area children.
 
Anthony Landi invited members to buy tickets for the PBruins game on November 9th. He is hoping that there will be contributions for 20 tickets to be given to students from San Miguel.
 
Also Art reminded us about the Nuts and Bolts of Rotary event on November 10th and the Annual Foundation Dinner on November 15th.
 
 
HAPPY BUCKS
Pete Brock: Happy for Red Sox World Series win and the upcoming Patriots’ game and his “It’s a small world” story.  At the conclusion of his Sunday Mass, he met David who is going to be the new musical director for his church. He happens to be from Oregon (Pete’s home state) and he graduated from the same Jesuit School.
 
Tiffany Bumgardner was happy for her football team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
 
Yoni Sunshine announces 2 for 2, that his second child’s first word was Dadda.
 
Wendy Marcus announced that her father, Stanley Marcus, received a letter informing him that he has been awarded the Medal of Knight in the French Order of the Legion of Honor in recognition of his contribution to the liberation of France during World War II. Wendy also read excerpts from Ralph Barlow’s remarks at the 275th Anniversary Service at the Beneficent Congregational Church, where he is pastor emeritus.
 
Paul Segal was happy because of kindness from Walter Adamowicz  and Maxine and Arvam Cohen.
 
Walter Cotter was happy for the thrill of being at the 2nd game of the World Series despite the arctic temperatures!
 
Jim Gilcreast gave 5 Happy Bucks for the 5 years between the Red Sox winning the World series in 2013 and this year. Cheaper than the 86 he had to pay in ’04.
 
Barbara Harris is happy for Walter who enjoyed Red Sox tickets to the season with a great ending.
 
Bill DiBiasio wanted a show of hands of who watched all the way to the 3:30 am ending of game 3. There were 11 Rotarians!
 
PACKING UP GIFTS FOR KIZIRIAN SECOND GRADERS
 
Bryan Cook presented our in-meeting service program which consisted of putting together gifts bags with granola bar, candy, pair of mittens, and a book for 104 2nd Graders at the Harry Kizirian School. Each Rotarian put together 3 bags with goodies and Rotary stickers. It was a great hands-on project!!
