We continue to be in touch with Wendy Marcus in Italy on the condition of Alan, who underwent open heart surgery. We hope Alan will be well enough to travel home to the USA soon.

For first timers, this Rotary club was the 22nd club chartered by Rotary International in 1911. The club is the older service organization RI. We have 76 members that range in ages from 25 to 90 that work or have worked in many professions. We are like-minded individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of people both locally and internationally. Membership is open to everyone so please consider attending a meeting in the future to learn more.
To attend the changeover meeting on June 25th at the Hope club, please pay Rob Black $30. The meeting starts at 11:30. Cash bar, deadline to register is June 18th.
Next week will be Kris David’s last meeting as president. Kris will be making some special presentations to thank members who made the year a success. The meeting will also include a year-end report from George J. West and Harry Kizirian Elementary Schools’ reading specialist on how their students reading scores increased during the year.

- Pete Brock– Perpetually happy, $10 for his decision to be happy. Also, the happiness is being shared with Providence area non-profit/social sector grand recipients. Additionally, last Friday and Saturday, Stars and Stripers fishing tournament was held to benefit Tommy’s Place.

Program
Very special meeting for our club as we work hard all year to be able to provide grants to non-profits that serve Greater Providence. At the completion of the meeting, please stay so we an take a group picture with all the grant recipients.

JORI (Jewish Orphanage of Rhode Island). You do not need to be Jewish to go there whether you are Jewish, “Jew-ish,” or not Jewish.
Mission is to help children to have a camping experience, regardless of financial ability. All kids are treated as equals.
Currently service 200 children, from many states.
Only one other Jewish orphanage still operates in the country (FL).
JORI strives to provide a constructive environment for all attendees, with a focus on mental health and well-being.
11 Israelis are coming to work at camp this summer.
