Last Meeting's Report

Meeting Date:  May 27, 2025

Reporter: Lew Hassell

Pledge of Allegiance

George Babcock led us in a special recognition, in honor of Memorial Day. He spoke for all those who wore the uniform and gave their lives fighting for Duty, Honor, and Country, so we can enjoy the freedom we have. George brought the sword he received when he was commissioned as an Officer in 1969. The sword is in pristine condition! He then led us in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Inspiration

Maury Ryan led us in an inspiration focused on an article in a recent edition of our Rotary magazine regarding the Russia and Ukraine war.

On Zoom

Barry Fain, Lew Hassell and Ben Hadsell

Guest

Sharon Johnson, District Governor

President’s Report

Pete Brock advised us of the following.
  • June 10th – bring a guest to the Rotary meeting. Someone who you believe would be a great Rotarian.

  • School Supplies – we are sponsoring 32 classrooms this year, up from 24 last year. We need everyone’s support so please reach out to Rob Black and donate at least $50 for much needed school supplies.  You can donate online at Providence Rotary.
  • Installation – Holly Applegate reminded us of the Installation of new Board members and Officers, July 1st at the Squantum Association. Go online to register, there will be a zoom option.
  • Get well – get well wishes for Liz Messier who will be having surgery.
