Board Notes- Beginning with this newsletter we will be communicating monthly discussions of the board meeting.
From meeting of November 19th
New payment options coming soon
1. The Finance Committee is completing arrangements that will allow members more choices for paying their club dues and lunch expenses. Automatic monthly credit card payments will make it easier for members to stay current and keep records, while assuring better cash flow for the club. A full explanation of the options will be sent out when the new system is ready to go. To be clear, this will be an option, not a requirement.
2. Non-exempt members (those who pay quarterly lunch assessments) will have the option of not eating – and not paying assessments for – hotel-provided lunches. This is an all-or-nothing choice: if you elect not to pay quarterly, you will not be allowed to purchase lunch occasionally. Temporary changes for special situations will be allowed at the board’s discretion.
Attendance & Membership Policy Evaluation
The board voted to set up a special committee to explore issues and minimize potential confusion surrounding the related issues of attendance, membership requirements, recruitment and retention. The committee will include members of the board and membership committee and non-office-holding Rotarians, all appointed by President Mike. It will report to the board early in 2016, followed by full discussion with all club members.
Rotarians observed a moment of silence for the terrorist attack in Paris.
