OVERCOMING SELF-LIMITING THOUGHTS & BEHAVIORS
Our speaker was Rebecca Twitchell, founder of Half Full, LLC, a consulting firm that provides strategic planning and facilitation to business clients and demonstrates a deep commitment to social responsibility.
Rebecca used her own story as the inspiration for her business. She was born with only two fingers on her left hand and grew up very self-conscious of her differences. She finally confirmed for herself that everyone is unique and has something to offer and began to tell her story as part of her healing process. She became the focus of an advertising campaign in which she prominently displayed the left hand she had tried to hide throughout much of her youth and committed to helping others overcome self-limiting thoughts and behaviors. Half Full is really two sides of a coin with Half representing the for-profit business and Full the commitment to giving back to the community.
Half Full runs “Forwards” (instead of retreats) for teenagers from all backgrounds where staff, along with volunteers, facilitate conversations among the teens to help them realize the lesson Rebecca discovered concerning the uniqueness of all and that everyone has something to offer. The Forwards are free for participants.
