Inspiration
Cap Willey encouraged us to dial down the political rhetoric in light of the most recent attempt on President Trump’s life during Saturday’s correspondence dinner. The rise in political violence can be tied to social media and agenda-driven media outlets. We should listen to each other and appreciate our differences versus being dismissive and condescending toward someone who has an opposing viewpoint.
Guests
Robert Bailey, Debi Hogan, and Nishat Siddiqi
Induction

Recognition of Friend of Rotary
Cristina Iannarino who has been helpful with our Literacy Initiative.
Announcements
President Bill Applegate asked all to make donations in the Gold Bowls for the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation.
He also asked if anyone here was joining Holly and him on Martha’s Vineyard for the District Conference (May 15 – 17th). A subtle reminder that there was still time to sign up. He mentioned that there would be shuttles from the ferry to the event on Saturday, which is the only day of the conference.

Speaker
Anthony Hollingshead introduced our guest speaker, Warren Leach, who is an award-winning Landscape Architect.
Warren, with is booming voice, explained how he is inspired by the beauty of his home state of Maine. He shared an impressive display of his many landscape designs on the screen, all of which were unique and beautiful.
The main theme throughout the presentation was the use of water for tranquility, “ugly” noise suppression, and its relaxing quality. He noted how he used the existing features of the land blending them into his designs.
