Our Speaker

Past President Anthony Hollingshead, Membership Committee Chair presented an update on his committee. The Members are Anthony H, Michaela, Karen, Lisa and P.J. Fox. They meet monthly to review potential candidates and current initiatives.

He discussed messaging to prospects and the community. Giving examples of current and past projects to our present day annual gala preparations to support our clubs literacy initiative. He also shared with us a spreadsheet of prospects listed by level of interest and inducted members. Candidates tend to reach us by our website, introductions from members and through Rotary International.

There are four types of members. Individual, Family, Corporate and Honorary. He explained each level including Friends of our club. Currently, we have five new members this year, while six members left Rotary due to health, retirement, or relocation. Those who have left have agree to support the club in at least one area of service.

Past President Anthony emphasized the importance of engagement for retention and recruitment. They are working to improve the Orientation of new members getting them engaged early on committees and the understanding of our Projects and Initiatives. He also shared trends of our membership over the past several years.

In conclusion each member can help our committee by identifying prospects and invite them to a free luncheon meeting who can witness our club in action living our motto Service Above Self. “Let’s continue working together to grow our Rotary Club.”
