- Open your arms to change but don’t let go of your values.
- Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

NURTURE OR NATURE? YES.
Dr. Pamela High, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician and director of the Children’s Neurodevelopment Center at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, spoke about epigenetics, epi-attached to nurture and genetics-attached to Nature. The age-old question of Nurture vs Nature.
She spoke of the human brain and “use it or lose it”! A child’s experience informs his learning; experiences can alter the brain’s circuitry. She spoke of the three stresses which effect a child—positive, tolerable and toxic and gave examples of each. She spoke about the importance of language and the differences in children brought up in talkative families vs taciturn families.
In the end—It’s 100% Nurture and 100% Nature!!
