ANNOUNCEMENTS, Etc.
Randy Dittmar advised the dictionaries to be distributed to Providence Schools have been labeled. The next phase is for Rotary volunteers to sign up for schools they will distribute to. Randy has a list of the schools and awaits volunteers to sign up.
 
Paul Segal encourages all members to donate to the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation (“Club foundation”) Annual Appeal.
 
Wendy Marcus had best wishes for the December birthday members: Richard Applebaum, Kevin Oates and Bryan Cook. 
 
 
Students and teachers at the Kizirian School are enjoying the new teaching materials purchased by the club’s foundation as part of our Childhood Literacy Initiative. Most of this year’s budget is going toward materials aimed at helping kids who are having trouble catching up to grade level reading skills.
 
Get Well: Bill DiBiasio will be having the first of two hip replacement operations this week and expects to be back with us in about a month.
 
HAPPY BUCKS
Bob Murphy gave 44 happy bucks in honor of Cy Wyche who flew in 44 combat missions over Europe in World War II. At the annual meeting of The Rhode Island Aviation Hall Of Fame, Bob  read a statement honoring Cy's achievements prior to Taps being played in honor of Cy and other veterans who died in 2019.
 
Pete Brock was happy despite the Patriots’ loss to Kansas City with bad officiating since he feels they will win the next 3 and be in good shape for the playoffs.
 
Wendy Marcus for safely completing an 18 hour drive back to RI from South Carolina last week.
 
Jim Gilcreast for recently celebrating 27 years of happy marriage, which he says is not a bad average from having been married 50 years ago.
 
Geoff Gaunt for closing on the purchase of his company's new building and for attending a great concert last weekend.
 
Lynn Bruso happy for her husband going to attend Army- Navy football game next week.
 
Walt Adamowicz for the many condolences extended to his family after the death of his son Michael.
 
Don Saracen for attending exciting LSU - Texas football game on Thanksgiving weekend.
 
Anthony Hollingshead for the attendance of his guest Tyler Paquette of Kingdom Living Design Co. who has expressed an interest in the club.
 
Richard Applebaum for the great work Bill David has done in coaching the San Miguel School chess team.
 
Sharon Garland for the inspiring visit she made to the Kizirian School with Terri Adelman to begin volunteer work there. 
 
Kris David for the possibility of the club becoming involved in a Rotary International project. She encourages any member interested to contact her.
 
Maury Ryan for safely returning home after Thanksgiving weekend trip to Maine was cancelled due to snow.
 
Laraine Beck happy to be back after missing meetings for awhile.
 
Several members gave happy bucks thanking Bob Murphy for organizing the holiday luncheon with San Miguel School students and staff on Dec. 2.
