INSPIRATION
Walter Adamowicz shared a few quotes sent to him by Paul Segal (who was unable to be at the meeting), including:
“The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.” Arthur C. Clarke
“Enter every activity without giving mental recognition to the possibility of defeat. Concentrate on your strengths, instead of your weaknesses... on your powers, instead of your problems.” Paul J Meyer
ANNOUNCEMENTS, Etc.
Get Well: George Babcock has a severe knee injury. Please send him your well wishes! [Update: he’s doing well!]
Gala Update: We have received many amazing items for the gala raffle, super raffle, and live auction, but are still looking for more! Please see Jim Gilcreast if you have an item you would like to donate. Overnight stays, trips, etc… are always appreciated!
President Geoff Gaunt reminded members who are seeking gala sponsorships not to say that “every single dollar goes to literacy” - as Providence Rotary still supports nonprofits that work outside of literacy/education - and to focus, instead, on asking potential sponsors to help us reach out $30,000 Providence Rotary Foundation goal.
Sue Kearney was thrilled to announce that (after her tireless efforts!) retired Patriots player and literacy champion, Malcolm Mitchell, will be joining us as a guest of honor at the gala! Sue recommends that all Providence Rotarians read Malcolm’s children’s book,
The Magician’s Hat.

CLASSROOM SUPPLIES

BACK TO SCHOOL BARBECUE
Back to School party at
Harry Kizirian Elementary brought the community out, with Providence Rotarians serving pizza (courtesy of Flatbread) and burgers/dogs. Fun for all.
