Nondas Voll introduced the panel of Providence Mayor candidates: Buddy Cianci, Jorge Elorza, and Daniel Harrop and outlined the format for the panel discussion. Each candidate gave a short introduction. The floor was then opened to Providence Rotarians for questions. Below are the questions asked by our membership:
What is your position on public health?
What would be the first thing you would do to address the unfunded liabilities problem?
How would you build on the rich, ethnic diversity in Providence?
How would you better balance ethnic diversity in Providence?
What tactics would you employ to motivate graduating college students to stay in the City (or even State)?
What are your thoughts on the direct criticisms that Mr. Cianci is getting about running again?
Today’s program was well attended with a higher number of guests than usual, including wives of several members. Like each candidate, the answers that were given were equally diverse and different.
