DELTA DENTAL OF RI: COMMITTED TO
GROWTH AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Guest speaker Joseph Perroni, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Rhode Island, reviewed the company’s core values that include providing accessible, affordable and effective dental care and a commitment to charitable giving and community service.
The Delta Dental Fund of RI was established in 2005 to support charitable programs for low-income individuals, children and elders. Delta is the leading corporate sponsor of Mission of Mercy where they partner with volunteer dentists, Delta employees and others to give free dental care to 2,000 individuals in one day.
In order to expand services outside RI while not competing with Delta plans in other states, the local company established Altus Ventures Group which provides unbranded dental insurance in Massachusetts and dental technology expertise. Chewsi, a free dental app that establishes online communication between patients and dentists, is the company’s newest initiative. It offers significant savings on dental care from participating dentists.
Delta Dental of RI is the state’s leading dental insurer with 130 employees serving 600,000 individuals.
