ANNOUNCEMENTS

Remember, Monday is Martin Luther King Day so this weeks meeting is on Tuesday

Phyllis Fern announced that Marion Avarista is healing well at home but is anxious to get back to Rotary.  She appreciates the cards and calls so let’s keep them coming.

Jerry Cannon offered a greeting via skype from St. Elizabeth’s where Suzanne tells us he is a repeat offender.

PP Randy Dittmar announced that he still needs 8-9 people to deliver dictionaries.   Best bet is to phone the school and speak with the receptionist rather than asking for the principal.   Dictionaries can be picked up at PP Jenny Miller’s office.   This week is better than next.   If you need to pick up while Jenny is in the DR, you need to email her prior to doing so in order for her to arrange access.

PP Jenny Miller read a letter from the recent Zone Institute Meeting.  Rotary was very impressed with our club and especially Lucy Miller and her efforts with flip flops.  They have donated $2,500 for school supplies in the DR.

Geoff Gaunt—Providence Rotary Paint Off will be held April 7th.  DG Kris David mentioned a possible conflict with the District Conference.  More to come.

Club Assembly How to Improve the Rotary experience
President Mike introduced Art Norwalk who gave background on the round table discussions to be held in lieu of an outside speaker.   There were a number of tables each equipped with a moderator to lead the discussion and a note taker to record commentary.  No names were being recorded and those who wished to speak on the record were encouraged to connect with a club officer or director.
