Executive Director, San Miguel School

Mel Bride is the Executive Director of the San Miguel School of Providence, a tuition-free, Lasallian middle school for boys in grades 5-8. Mel moved into the lead role at San Miguel after serving for five years as the school's Director of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships. Mel is a career educator having most recently taught Spanish and served as Dean of Students at Tabor Academy. A graduate of Colby College (BA) and Middlebury College (MA), Mel has lived in Spain and Honduras and spent many years leading youth service trips to Central America. Mel lives in New Bedford with her husband and has two grown children. 

 

Mel will speak about the mission and history of the school, share updates on current programs, and answer any questions from the group. She will be joined by a San Miguel graduate who will talk about his experience as a student and share his thoughts on the impact the school had on his life.
