Rotary Peace Centers and Rotary Peace Fellowships

Each year Rotary International awards fully funded fellowships for peacebuilders from diverse backgrounds to study at one of Rotary's Peace Centers located at premier universities around the world. This year 50 peace fellows will be selected to study in a master degree programs and 40 fellows will be selected to earn a professional development certificate.

Frances Jeffries is an advocate for social justice and a pro bono consultant to non-profit organizations focused on peace initiatives in developing countries. A member of Rotary International since 1987 and Rotary Peace Fellow, she has worked with the Tigray Development Association in Ethiopia, for Water for Cambodia (WFC), and as Project Manager for the Rotary International’s “Literacy in South Africa” initiative. She works with Rotary partner organizations, Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI) and the Institute for Peace and Economics to link Rotary Clubs and their projects with the expertise of these partners.  She is currently a member of the Rotary Club of the Bridgewaters and is the Chair of the District Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention/Resolution Committee.

Frances serves as a Civil Society Observer to the United Nations advocating for the elimination of nuclear weapons and has been a Representative for since 2017. Dr. Jeffries has a Ph.D. in counseling from Kent State University and has worked in public and private education from K-graduate school.
