Bruce R. Keeler

Bruce Keeler serves as a senior philanthropic advisor at the Rhode Island Foundation, a role he has held since June 2020. He has worked with individuals, families, non-profit organizations and businesses as they explore and implement their philanthropic goals. 

Prior to the foundation, Bruce worked as director of development at the Archaeological Institute of America in Boston, where he managed all aspects of its fundraising program, including major, annual and planned giving. He also worked for many years in the higher education sector at Brown University and Roger Williams University. At Brown, he led the university’s reunion giving program as a senior member of the advancement team. 

Bruce earned an AB in political science at Brown and a JD from Case Western Reserve University, where he was senior editor of its Journal of Law-Medicine. He has also spent countless hours on local playing fields and hockey rinks as a volunteer coach and board member of various youth sports organizations. Bruce is a resident of Cumberland and the proud father of three adult sons.
