What a Super Success!
A packed house of nearly 250 Rotarians, sponsors and friends
enjoyed the club's first Legends for Literacy Gala,
and in the process raised more than $60,000
to support our Childhood Literacy Initiative.

After months of preparation, volunteers arrived hours before the Gala to make sure everything was just right.
Table centerpieces featured children's books that were donated to our partner school,
Harry Kizirian Elementary, at the end of the evening.
Silent auction items, including sports memorabilia, were set out for bidding.

John Rooke, voice of the Patriots and PC Friars, was Master of Ceremonies.
Club President Geoff Gaunt introduced the Childhood Literacy Initiative.
Auctioneer and event co-chair Pete Brock brought out the generosity
of many folks in the audience.

Keynote speaker Malcolm Mitchell donated dozens of copies
of his book "The Magician's Hat" to the Kizirian School.
Event Co-chair Susan Kearney-Kaplan presented Malcolm with the Richard A. Kaplan Award.
#12 jersey signed by Tom Brady drew spirited bidding until the Patriots Foundation and
Providence Picture Frame donated a second framed, signed jersey, allowing both high bidders to win
and the club foundation to receive an extra donation!
