Inspiration
Jane Berkowitz with Dr. Seuss quotes you'll love!
Today you are you! This is truer than true. There is no one alive that is you-er than you!
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you'll learn, the more places you'll go.
From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere.
Don’t cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the things you can think of if only you try!
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
Why fit in when you were born to stand out?
Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living. It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.
Think and wonder, wonder and think.
Sometimes the questions are complicated, and the answers are simple.

Speaker
Kelly Seigh, Director of Corporate and Community Relations at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank shared how the Food Bank helps those in RI facing food insecurity. Each month the food bank serves 84,000 Rhode Islanders. In FY 2024, 18.3 million pounds of food was distributed (an increase of 15% over the previous year.)
Food comes to the Food Bank from manufacturers, distributors, growers, retailers, and individuals. In 2024, 28% of food was donated, 42% purchased at wholesale prices, and 30% was Federal USDA Commodities. The Food Bank receives and warehouses food and distributes it through a statewide network of 147 local member agencies including food pantries, meal sites, shelters, youth programs, and senior centers.
Other programs include Meals4Kids boxes, To-Go bags for unhoused individuals, Spice boxes for tastier meals, and Kids Café Meals.
