Rotary Club of Providence
INTRODUCTION
The Providence Rotary Charities Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Rotary Club of Providence. It is a public foundation, tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3), administered by a Board of Trustees drawn from the membership of the Rotary Club of Providence. The Foundation supports charitable activities that effectively advance the broad goals of Rotary International - health, education, and the alleviation of poverty - by awarding program grants each spring. Grant Policies
As a general rule, the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation awards grants to 501(c)(3) organizations that are located within and/or primarily serve residents of the City of Providence. Grants are awarded to support operations of specific programs. Grants are not awarded:
- to individuals.
- to entities that redistribute funds to other organizations.
- as minor contributions to large-scale campaigns or projects.
- to large national organizations.
- for purchase of tickets to charitable events.
- for overall agency administration.
- where participation in religious activities or membership in a specific religious group is a condition for receiving benefits of the agency or program.
Application Process
Application deadline for awards is April 15, 2023. Interested organizations should download the application HERE. When complete, submit by email to foundation@ProvidenceRotary.org .

Decision Process
Applications will be reviewed by the Trustees of the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation, and applicants will be notified of their decision during the month of May, 2023. Receipt of a grant in any one year does not guarantee future awards. Denial of a grant in any year does not preclude or prejudice application in future years. Grant winners will be invited to accept their awards at a special meeting of the Rotary
Club of Providence in June, 2023.
